It all began with George Bailey

You might be familiar with the classic film “It’s A Wonderful Life.” It’s one of our favorites, not only for the redemptive Christmas story, but because of George Bailey’s desire to help the working families of his community buy a home. That’s our goal too, and that’s why we named our housing development Bailey Park Homes. We are a husband and wife team putting our skills to work to help create new neighborhoods and homeownership opportunities.

But times are different now,

While Mary and George used straightforward mortgages, we now need to combine innovative design, smart construction, and new financial tools to make housing affordable. We believe in the market, traditional homeownership, and neighborhoods that we all can call home.

About Us

Tom Cook grew up in Owosso and enjoyed a successful career as a city planner before moving back to his hometown to raise two children. He is a former Deputy Director for the California Department of Housing and Community Development and served four years on the Owosso City Council.

Anna Owens has a background in sales and for 25 years was a small business owner and operator. She has always been interested in housing and has supervised several residential development projects.

Together, Tom and Anna have been active in their community, promoting opportunities in the arts, cleaning up the environment, and seeking to share the benefits of strong neighborhoods.

Bailey Park Homes is a Low-Profit Limited Liability Company (L3C)

low-profit limited liability company (L3C) bridges the gap between a private company driven by a need for profit and a non-profit organized to provide a public benefit.

This means our company operates like a traditional company, but our goal is not to make money. We want to create new neighborhoods and make housing available to all.

Legally, we operate like a limited liability company (LLC) and are incorporated in the State of Michigan in compliance with IRS rules. While there are certain tax advantages for investing in a L3C, we do not accept or benefit from donations.
